DNA Data Storage Alliance
Part of the SNIA’s community, the DNA Data Storage Alliance’s mission is to create and promote an interoperable storage ecosystem based on DNA as a data storage medium by educating the public and raising awareness about this emerging technology and its vast power to preserve our digital legacy. In the future, the Alliance will influence and drive R&D and funding and develop standards and specifications to encourage ecosystem evolution.
DigNA portfolio
DigNA is a portfolio of nine research projects funded under the European Innovation Council (EIC) Pathfinder Challenge 2022 for DNA-based digital data storage. The portfolio brings together leading European research institutions and companies to develop scalable and reliable approaches for using DNA as a general data storage medium.
Atlas Data Storage
Atlas is developing automated systems to store and retrieve digital data using DNA molecules. Our core technology combines novel semiconductor chips and enzyme engineering, ushering in a new era of high-throughput and massively parallel chemistry performed on a chip. Atlas addresses the exponential growth of data, while dramatically reducing the power usage, e-waste, and carbon generation of data storage.
Biomemory
Founded in 2021, Biomemory is a deep tech company specialized in enterprise data storage. By leveraging molecular engineering, the company’s goal is to build cost-effective and energy-efficient exabyte rackable appliances for data centers. Utilizing proprietary technologies based on synthetic biology, Biomemory produces long, bio-sourced, biocompatible, and bio-secure DNA fragments that can be stored as inert polymers for thousands of years without any energy input.
